I just gave my daughter a hot cup of green tea with honey to soothe her sore throat after bringing her home from school sick today. Now, I’m finally getting this week’s tip for busy moms and dads out. I had planned on planning ahead, but real life happens and I’m as busy as you are this holiday season, so my apologies for it being a little late!

So, this week’s tip for how to get happier & more grateful is to use their Wish Lists in conjunction with Gratitude. That’s right, they can be grateful for what they already have as well as hope and want more. The key, however, is always to feel grateful for what you have first, then anything you get will be that much more meaningful.

This week I’m going to let the video do most of the “talking” so be sure to watch it now.

Basically, you and your children will take your Gratitude Lists from last week, take another look at them, really think about what’s on the list and why you’re grateful for the things on it.

Then, after you and your children are feeling really grateful for all that you already have, you’re going to start or add to your Wish List for this holiday season.

Note: Wish Lists are great for birthday’s too and for helping you and others figure out what to get them!

After you and your children have made your Wish Lists, go back over them, put everything in order of importance, and then really think about why you want the things at the top of your list, and maybe eliminate some of the things at the bottom of the list if / when you realize they really aren’t that meaningful or important to you.

Remember to watch the video for more tips, ideas and information!

Super simple, right? Remember though that knowing it, and doing it, are two different things so be sure to ‘do the tip’ this week!

Thanks so much for being here, for being a mom or dad, and for everything you do each and every day to be the best one you can be.

It’s a hard job but so worth it and remember: We can have happier and more grateful children. We can be happier and more grateful ourselves and we can, and we are, changing the world one child and one family at a time, starting with our own!

Thanks for watching and I’ll see you next time,

Cheri
