One of the easiest and fastest ways to start bringing more gratitude in to your life and in to your children’s lives, it to say thank you for the day.
Here are some examples:
- Thank you for the gift of this wonderful day. Thank you for today. Thank you for this day. It’s going to be a great day!
You can use any of these, just say “thank you for this day”, or make up your own “thank you.” There is no right or wrong way to do this, so just do it! Explain to your children that saying thank you for the day, before you start it, sets in motion gratitude and positive thoughts that will help shape your day. When you start out in a bad mood, how does the rest of your day usually go? If you start out with in a positive and grateful way, your day is likely to be better. In any case, saying thank you for the day, is a great way to bring more gratitude into your day, it’s easy, fast and something everyone can do!
As always, thanks for being here with us and thank you for being a mom – we’re creating the future one child and one family at a time!
p.s. it takes between 21 and 30 days to create a habit so if you forget in the beginning, just say ‘thank you for the day’ as soon as you remember. You and your children can also tape up index cards or post it notes on the bathroom mirror, next to beds, or on the front door, to remind you to say thank you. Be creative and decorate the reminder cards. It will make it more fun, and more memorable!
