Honor Memorial Day and Be Grateful

Today is a day to remember, and to be grateful for, the countless men and women who have sacrificed so much for our country and for our freedom. It’s also a day to teach and encourage our children to be grateful and appreciative as well. It’s our job as parents to teach our children to appreciate and be grateful for the country we live in. It isn’t something we should take for granted, but of course many of us do because we’re not always focused on it. So, this week is all about focusing our thoughts and awareness on the country we live in and being grateful and appreciative for it. The video below has tips and ideas for how to do this today and this week no matter how busy you are or your family is. It’s Memorial Day so it’s especially important to stop and remember the sacrifice of so many in the past and the continuing sacrifice of so many. Every freedom we enjoy is because of the brave men and women who have fought to protect it and us. Go to your town parade. Thank every service man and woman you see. Give thank you cards or videos or just say thank you to any veterans you may know. There are so many things you and your children can do this week to say “thank you for your service and thank you for our freedom.” We can be grateful for the sacrifice of those who are no longer with us and  let those that are know how much we appreciate them and their service. Watch the video below to find out more.

Thank you for your service.

Thank you for our freedom.

If these videos don’t make you smile and cry and feel grateful, then I don’t know what will. There are many, but these are just a few of the ones I find most moving . . .
